*Due to the coronavirus pandemic Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter is unable to use church halls so is providing accommodation at a local hotel for those in most need during the winter months.
If you need help because of homelessness, or you know someone who does, the number to contact is 07739870411.
Donations and volunteers are still needed to provide support during the winter.
Please visit the Night Shelter website to contact them.
Every winter we join with other churches in the borough to provide food and shelter for those who are sleeping rough in our area (Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter). One night a week we open our building to give a hot meal, bedding for sleep and breakfast for up to 30 people. Other churches do the same for the other nights of the week meaning that together we can provide food and a warm place to sleep every night during the coldest time of the year.
While we give a warm welcome and provide for the immediate needs of some of those sleeping rough, through the collaboration of the churches there is also a caseworker available who can help with longer term needs such as housing.
If you’re interested in helping with us then please contact us.
If you’re interested in finding out more, helping on other occasions or if you need help with housing then go to the Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter website.
